these pieces turned out to be quite a happy accident. I originally drew the Superman piece back in 2005 just for fun.

I ended up selling the piece years later and the new owner asked if I would be up for doing a Batman to go along with it. I had no idea if it would or not since I never imagined a piece to go with it. I got lucky though since the skyline curved and stopped at just the right place to make a mirror image piece possible.

Wow, great work! I love seeing these two pieces side by side, it's a nice contrast to the settings and characters of these two. Batman is obviously, the darker, more morose person and Gotham is also a darker, more classical city. Superman is always the hopeful peacemaker, and Metropolis is the lighter, more sunny city. I love your perspective too, the buildings are flawless and the amount of detail you put into this, like the little people and cars on the streets, are just fantastic touches. :)
